It has been a great pleasure to have been selected among the five duos who will take part to the Final round of the “Leonard Smith and Felicity Young” string and piano duo competition with my special cellist Mathilde Blondel. The final will take place on the 10th of May in the Peacock Room, Trinity Laban Conservatoire, starting from 2.30 pm. We will be playing the Brahms cello sonata op. 38 and enjoying a full immersion in the best string and piano duo repertoire with the other great finalists. It will be amazing just to be there and play for such musicians as the Steinberg Duo, during the Final and in the master class dedicated to the finalists but open to all to listen. Unexpected result ever, after months of hard work, among strong will to do all our best, some panic instants and practice until late, but according to Louisa Stonehill, the violinist who was in the panel and chose us for the Final, our performance has been an “amazing playing”, and this is the most gratifying moment, the same when your aim to give your best seems to be never enough.
